Still heading South

Well, it seems like ~450 miles a day is a good goal for getting from A to B. We left Harrisburg and proceeded to get lost in the road works just south of the city, no big deal just turn around and get back on the correct route…. right. Unfortunately 36ft of trailer on the back severely limits the options, finally found a large shopping mall and dragged it through. Made it down to Fayetteville NC in 8.5 hours of driving and still around 12mpg. At least diesel seems to be getting a little cheaper as we go south it’s now around 84c /litre.

Temperature peaked at 27C, so the A/C got put into use.

Tomorrow should see us at the camp ground

On the Road

Well this is day one and we have made it as far south as Harrisburg PA. Actual driving time was 8.2 hours or 8 hours 12 minutes for those who need help converting! We covered 685kms (428 miles) Good news is that it is 10 degrees warmer already! The truck pulled really well up the PA hills, even if it did suck back the diesel in doing so, about 5MPG up the steeper ones, but it held it’s speed on all the hills we travelled. Overal consumption was ~ 12MPG (US).

More tomorrow,

Barry
