Further South

Well it turns out that the storm we had yesterday had an associated tornado warning, glad we were on the ball and found out about it 15 hours after the event. We headed out this morning through some showers and cooler weather, and the tail end of the DC rush-hour. One thing I learnt was to check that if you set the GPS to shortest route for any reason, make sure you set it back to fastest route before heading out on a long trip. I wondered why the beast was trying to take me the back doubles rather than the interstates!

Finally we got the speed up to 70MPH and stayed there most of the day with a fuel consumption of 5.2l/100km or 45 MPG(US) or 54 MPG(Imp). Not too shabby compared with the truck.

We left around 9AM and got in at 630PM. Tomorrow is the last leg, and we should be reunited with the trailer mid-afternoon
